Our Downtown Atlanta client has an immediate need for a Senior Web Specialist for a contract running through 06/30/2009 rated at $50/hr. (W2).

This position will report to the current IT Manager who is responsible for all aspects of application development and maintenance in a departmental sized IT organization. The candidate’s role is to define, develop, test, analyze and maintain new software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing and analyzing software programs and applications. The candidate will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. Primarily, the candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of existing Java based applications, as well as, the design, development and implementation of system enhancements to the state procurement modules. Working with the IT organization and the user departments, the candidate will apply industry accepted best practices, as well as, principles and processes uniquely related to Java-based applications in developing efficient and effective programs. The successful candidate will have significant experience working within a J2EE development environment with proficiency in Java, JSP, Javascript and HTML. The candidate will also have experience in communicating with system users and in successfully understanding, documenting, implementing and maintaining user requirements in designing software applications.
